Highline Trail Llamas
Pot Luck Llama Trips

imageThis is Llama Packer on the job training and the best way to qualify for our rental program. These trips are for more experienced backcountry travelers that have their own equipment and want to gain experience packing with llamas. Everyone brings their own supplies (subject to weight and size restrictions; 40 lbs contained in 4 each 10 x 20 stuff sacks. We can supply 4 gallon square buckets that fit our panniers in place of the stuff sacks.) and shares the camp chores. We will be more involved in the hows and whys of llama packing, and we will be using younger llamas that are expanding their trail experience. Everyone will be paired with a llama and our goal is to develop a life long willing companion that lives to pack and will go through hell when asked. To accomplish this it is important to build a foundation of positive experiences. We don't want to push any mental or physical limits. The general pace of the trip may need to be slower and we want to find particularly lush camp sights.

Of course these trips are not all work and no play. We will be taking plenty of time to explore and test the fishing possibilities (perhaps several times a day).

Rates: $70.00 per day, children 12 and under ½ price, subject to ½ weight and size limit.
